The Iranian Journal of Horticultural Science and Technology adheres strictly to ethical publishing principles and follows the guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal also complies with national regulations regarding the prevention and handling of academic misconduct. According to these principles, a conflict of interest arises when there is any financial or personal relationship between participants in the review and publication process—including authors, reviewers, editors, or editorial board members—that could inappropriately influence their duties. All conflicts of interest must be declared in writing at the time of manuscript submission.

Ethical Responsibilities
Authors must be fully aware of and committed to all ethical standards of publishing. These ethical principles are well-defined, and in the event of any violation, the journal reserves the right to pursue legal action at both national and international levels. Submission of a manuscript implies that the author understands and agrees to these ethical obligations. All parties involved in the journal’s activities (editor-in-chief, editorial board members, managing editor, copy editors, and publisher) are required to accept and comply with the journal’s ethical charter.
  • Submitted manuscripts must align with the journal’s scope and represent original research by the author(s).
  • Manuscripts must not be under review or consideration for publication in any other journal, domestically or internationally. However, papers previously presented as abstracts at conferences may be submitted in full article format.
  • The journal retains the right to accept, reject, edit, condense, or modify submitted manuscripts.
  • Any revisions or summarizations are made with author consultation, but authors bear full responsibility for the content. The corresponding author is responsible for all communications, and publication does not imply endorsement of the article’s content.
  • Proper citation of all sources is mandatory, with complete and accurate referencing.
  • Submission of a signed commitment form confirming the manuscript’s exclusivity is required during the submission process.

Editorial Decisions
The journal respects copyright laws and ensures all intellectual property rights are maintained. Editorial decisions are made impartially, without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnicity, citizenship, or political philosophy.

Confidentiality
All personal information related to submitted manuscripts is kept strictly confidential and is accessible only to authorized individuals (editor-in-chief, editorial board, managing editor, reviewers, advisors, copy editors, and publisher).

Authors’ Responsibilities
  • Scientific Accuracy and Standards: Authors must prepare manuscripts in accordance with scientific and journal standards, ensuring accuracy in methods and data. Proper citation of all referenced work is mandatory.
  • Data Availability: Authors may be asked to provide raw data, interviews, questionnaires, or other research tools to support their work. Public availability of such data can enhance the transparency and credibility of the research.
  • Originality: Manuscripts must be the authors' own work. Any use of others’ research must be properly cited.
  • No Simultaneous Submissions: Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to other journals or previously published elsewhere.
  • Author Contributions: The corresponding author must ensure that all listed authors have significantly contributed to the work and that no unrelated names are included. All authors must review and approve the manuscript before submission.
  • Disclosure of Risks: Any risks posed to humans, animals, or the environment by the research must be clearly stated.
  • Funding Disclosure: All sources of financial support must be disclosed.
  • Error Reporting: Authors must promptly inform the journal of any significant errors discovered in their published or submitted work and cooperate in correcting or retracting the article if necessary.

Copyright
Upon manuscript acceptance, authors are required to complete and submit the journal’s publication agreement form, which outlines copyright and licensing terms. Acceptance of these terms facilitates the broad and appropriate dissemination of research.
Open Access Policy
Recognizing the global demand for unrestricted access to research, the Iranian Journal of Horticultural Science and Technology publishes all articles under an Open Access model. By doing so, authors grant the journal perpetual rights to publish and distribute their work openly, without financial or legal claims (authors retain the right to share their own work with proper citation).

Benefits of Open Access:
  • Maximizing research impact;
  • Enhancing discoverability and indexing of articles;
  • Eliminating the need for permissions to cite work;
  • Providing free access to all researchers worldwide.
The journal is fully committed to Open Access, ensuring all published articles remain freely accessible after publication.
